The Laporte Volunteer Fire Company is always
looking for more active members, are you thinking about it? If the answer

Things to Know About Joining:
Probationary Status
1. You will be placed on a one year probationary status upon the approval of your application. (This can be shortened upon approval of the membership committee.)
2. Minimum requirements:
A. Fire
Training - I.S.T. Course
B.
E.M.S. Teraining - E.V.O.C. Course, C.P.R. Course or First Responder Course or E.M.T. Course
C. Courses
must be passed and proper documentation given to
membership committee.
D. Minimum
training requirements should be completed in the probation year.
3. If the Applicant is joining for administrative purposes only, they must attend at least 9 of the 12 meetings in their probationary year, and help at the carnival and other fundraisers the company puts on.
4. At the end of the one
year probationary period, the applicant will be evaluated for
full membership, extended probation to meet requirements, or rejected.
5. Rejected applicants may re-apply after one year.
